Demolition

Before the crews of Mark’s Disposal undertake a demolition project, much work and planning need to take place. Of utmost concern is the safety of our own crews, any bystanders or curious onlookers who are intrigued by the demolition of a building, and all pertinent environmental considerations. Preparing for a demolition project is not a cookie-cutter process – every project has its own set of unique challenges, so proper pre-planning is essential to the success and cost of the assignment.

We also need to plan for and mitigate any possible damage to adjacent structures. The magic of a properly executed demolition project is that, when the work is all done, you don’t even know that Mark’s Disposal has ever been there. It is of utmost importance that the job planners at Mark’s Disposal accurately diagnose the fastest, most efficient and safest way to perform our tasks given the unique characteristics of the space involved. Whether we are doing a selective demolition job, renovation preparation, or RRP work, we always pay strict attention to the “5 P’s” – Proper Preparation Prevents Poor Performance.

If the contract involves demolition of a commercial structure, we need to ensure that all tasks are closely coordinated with the business owner or plant manager so that we do not interrupt critical operations while we carry out a successful project. Our job is to be as inconspicuous and precise as possible while recognizing the environmental considerations of everything we do.

    Concrete Cutting And Removal

    Concrete Cutting

If you are looking to shape a section of concrete for a handicap ramp, wall opening, driveway, or parking lot, Mark’s Disposal also offers precision concrete cutting. We will then cut your concrete with great precision and focus to cater to your most specific shaping and styling preferences, and to accommodate all of your reshaping needs.

We subscribe to the old saying; “measure twice, cut once.” If you think about how strong a substance like concrete is, you can understand that cutting it is not a very easy proposition. There are many considerations before the project even begins, the primary consideration is the safety of the operator and any spectators who may wander by, as well as the preservation of adjacent properties and the structural integrity of the property involved.

    Concrete Removal

Why wait? You have wanted to remove that unsightly piece of concrete and plant a vegetable garden in that exact spot as long as you can remember. Life is short and so is the amount of time it takes the trained professionals at Mark’s Disposal to remove the concrete that has been so bothersome for so long. Before you know it, the concrete is gone and you are eating the tomatoes and cucumbers you are growing in that very same spot.

    Trenching Digging And Jack Hammering

    Trenching

There are many reasons that trenches need to be dug whenever a construction project is underway. It may be necessary to dig a trench as preparation for running electrical or water lines from one place to another. Sometimes, the trench digging is among the first tasks to be performed in a construction project. Trenching is also necessary for siphoning off groundwater, or creating initial boundaries prior to beginning a selective demolition project.

Sometimes homeowners need to have a trench dug so the electrician can install an underground line that you need – perhaps for a pool light or pump, a television cable or for irrigation purposes. You may be tempted to do the digging yourself and you may very well be capable of successfully carrying out the project. But for you to do the work will take about 10 times as long as a trained crew from Mark’s Disposal who can also use special trenching tools that you probably do not have access to.

Whatever the reason, gas mains, water mains, telephone lines, pipeline transport, etc. you can count on the crews from Mark’s Disposal to safely and efficiently perform all the trenching needs you can imagine.

    Digging

We live in New England and the probability for using an in-ground pool exists for approximately 3 months out of the year. However, we are hearty souls and we love the look of the gleaming blue water professionally nestled inside a brick or painted cement patio whenever we look into the back yard. Mark’s Disposal is always your best bet to dig the hole you need, exactly according to the specifications and dimensions as drawn up by your swimming pool contractor,

Sometimes, and this especially pertains to areas that are growing in home values, there doesn’t seem to be enough space to build new homes. As well, the older homes are not, by definition, modern (smart) houses. Very often, people who really want to get into one of these neighborhoods will purchase the older home with the specific intent of contracting for a complete demolition and building a brand new home in the same space. Sometimes, these older homes are slab buildings, mainly ranch style homes and new foundation needs to be built. Digging holes for new foundations is a specialty at Mark’s Disposal.

Whether you are a general contractor and need holes dug for placement of poles or you need existing poles that are in the way of your plans to be dug up, the crews at mark’s Disposal sand ready, willing and able to handle the job, no matter what the size.

    Jack Hammering

Pneumatic drills were developed in response to the needs of mining, quarrying, excavating, and tunneling work necessary to expand the country westward. Te modern version of the Pneumatic drill is the electromechanical drill that combines a hammer directly with a chisel. Compressed air powers most modern day jack hammers but many use electric motors. A jackhammer operates by driving an internal hammer up and down. Compressed air drives the hammer down to smash the back of the bit and it then returns t its original position. The bit recovers its original position by means of a spring. The cycle then repeats itself. The effectiveness of the jackhammer is dependent on how much force is applied to the tool, which usually depends on the material that is being cut into.

In the event of concrete removal (may also be used for trenching and digging), Mark’s Disposal has the ability to expedite the process by jack hammering. Jack hammering will break the concrete into smaller pieces at a quick pace, simplifying the demolition process. If you are looking for a quick solution to remove concrete, jack hammering is an excellent option for you!

Mark’s Disposal also offers concrete cutting and concrete removal services. Depending on your project, you may want to select concrete cutting or removal services as alternative to jack hammering. Speak with one of Mark’s Disposal’s employees today to learn the best route to make your project’s vision a reality.

For any job that requires a jack hammer to be used, Mark’s Disposal is well equipped (no pun intended) to handle your every need. Please call 978-828-3398, or fill out the contact form on this page, and let us do your heavy equipment work.
